University of Alcalá (UAH) was founded in 1499 and it is one of the oldest universities in Spain. It is located in Alcalá de Henares, a UNESCO world heritage site only thirty kilometres from the center of Madrid. Today UAH is a modern institution which offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes adapted to the European Higher Education Area and covering all fields of knowledge, from the humanities to engineering, and from the social sciences to experimental and biomedical sciences.
The Department of Computer Sciences, participating in this project, has a total number of more than 50 full time researchers and teachers, around 30 part-time as well as over 15 research assistants and ICT technicians.
Our mission as institution is to be a leading university in the international context, committed to society, inclusive and open to the world, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and the training of citizens by means of quality teaching, excellence in research and the promotion of ethical and socially responsible attitudes.
We will mainly contribute to this project participating in WP2 for skills needs analysis identification, to be able to develop roles within the domains of Digital Skills, Smart Cities and Communities, and Skills Frameworks. We will provide our expertise from previos similar european projects in this area.
