Workshop: SMARCO Pilot 1 - Session 1

Overview:

The session provides a comprehensive introduction to the SMARCO project and its role in supporting skills development for Smart Cities, with a particular focus on smart city resilience. Participants are presented with an overview of the project’s key initiatives, including the design and implementation of specialised short-term training courses developed by the consortium.
 
Throughout the workshop, attendees gain insight into the structure, objectives, and piloting of these courses, as well as the broader learning pathways available. Practical guidance is offered on how to access and participate in the training, including the requirements and processes for obtaining official SMARCO certifications, the tools involved, and the expected timelines.

In addition, the session explores emerging skill needs in urban innovation contexts and highlights how the SMARCO courses can support both professionals and organizations in addressing these challenges. The workshop has been delivered in both Spanish and English to ensure accessibility to a wider audience.

The session concludes with an interactive exchange, including a Q&A segment, where participants can share feedback and further discuss both the technical and educational aspects of the initiative.

Session 2 will build on the foundations established during the project activities, beginning with a recap of the pilot period carried out from March to November. This overview will highlight key outcomes, participant experiences, and lessons learned, providing a comprehensive reflection on the pilot phase.


The session will also introduce upcoming opportunities for engagement, with information on participation in the long-term courses to be piloted. This segment will offer guidance for those interested in continuing their learning journey within the SMARCO project.

The workshop will include an open discussion and participant reflections, allowing attendees to share feedback and exchange perspectives on both the pilot experience and future training opportunities.

The session will conclude with a certification ceremony, formally recognising the achievements of participants who have successfully completed the training programme. Closing remarks will wrap up the event and outline next steps for continued involvement in SMARCO learning initiatives.
