Vocational Education and Training in the Spanish Basque region

Politeknika Txorierri is a subsidized High School for Science and Technology and Vocational Education and Training (both EQF level 4 and 5) in the Spanish Basque Region. Each year the center provides education for over 450 full time students and 1000+ adult part time learners with a staff of 50 people. The center specializes in: Environmental Education, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Robotics, Sales and Commercial Management, Mechanical Design and Mechanical Production. Txorierri provides specialization courses for HVET students (EQF level 5) in three different fields: Digital Transformation (Industrial IoT and Cybersecurity); Advanced Robotics (Collaborative and Autonomous Robots and Artificial Vision); Smart Manufacturing. The centre is keenly aware of the need to urgently align with regional industrial and VET strategies. The centre aims to create and deliver a completely new overlapping curricula programme in digital competence for IT and OT technicians to meet emerging needs in local industry following the Basque Government Strategy for the Digital Transformation of the region.

Our mission is to offer specialised, quality training to develop competent people capable of adapting to a changing environment, while catering for diversity and through innovative and collaborative learning methodologies.


Txorierri demonstrates strong international focus and experience creating training programs and learning resources in collaboration with their international partners through a series of educational innovation projects developing materials for professional, technological and personal skills’ enhancement. We are also used to collaborating with industry not only for our students’ internships but in order to offer courses for their workers’ upskilling. Finally, Txorierri is a trusted partner for regional and national administrations and education bodies, collaborating on strategic education and up-skilling programmes and initiatives. Within the project Txorierri leads the creation of Train-the-trainer materials for short-term trainings as well as piloting of these trainings. It will also serve as a key collaborator in the development of the VET training program and in testing and refinement phases of the VET program.
