EMPHASYS CENTRE operates since 1998 as a highly successful ‘Education, ICT Training (VET), Research and Software Development Centre, approved by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport aiming to offer high quality LLL opportunities and digital solutions for all learners thus ensuring access and participation in the digitalized society and labour market. It is committed to promote the twin transformation (digital-green) through inclusive practices for a sustainable future.
Departments:
Education & ICT Training: it offers validated professional/upskilling courses at the National and EU level, as a successful KA1 Learning Mobility provider (https://erasmuscoursescyprus.com/), to a wide range of learners including professionals, teachers, VET trainers, social/adult workers, youth, seniors, migrants etc., on digital transformation (3D-printing, robotics, STEAM, VR/AR/AI/Drone-technologies, 3D-game design etc), green transition (green skills for jobs, climate change/environmental education etc.), empowerment and inclusion (cyberbullying, AI-ethics, culture, creativity, mental-health etc.)
Research: it cooperates with an extensive network of organisations across Europe for the implementation, management and coordination of research-based projects under EU programmes e.g. Erasmus+ (Alliances, CoVE, Teachers Academies), AMIF, CREA, CERV, Horizon.
Software Development: it promotes digital transformation, readiness and adaptability within the teaching and learning process through the development of digital tools/solutions, e.g. inclusive e-learning platforms, serious games and simulations with 3D/AR/VR/AI features for VET training, advanced websites, mapping tools, Mobile Applications, AI chat-bots, micro-credential assessment portals etc.
Strategic Planning: it is involved in needs’ identification, networking, synergies creation, policy-advocacy, analysis of EU recommendations, preparation of proposals in various calls, external quality evaluation and consultancy services to NGOs, public bodies, private organizations.

Emphasys Centre’s multidisciplinary expertise makes it a strong contributor to the SMARCO project. Its Education and ICT Training Department provides upskilling and reskilling programs in areas such as digital transformation, green skills, and cybersecurity—key to addressing the project’s skills gap. The Software Development Department enhances learning delivery by developing custom e-learning platforms, serious games, and immersive tools using VR/AR and 3D technologies. Additionally, its Research and Strategic Planning Department brings valuable experience in managing EU projects and supporting evidence-based policymaking and stakeholder engagement. With advanced facilities and a strong focus on innovation, Emphasys will play a vital role in achieving SMARCO’s objectives and building a resilient, future-ready smart communities skills ecosystem.
