Carl is the CEO of the Swedish Internet Foundation, Chairman of the Board of the Stockholm Green Innovation District, Chairman of the Board of the Urban Twin Transition Centre in Stockholm, and a former Independent Adviser to the European Commission.

He is a vision-driven, inquisitive, and outcome-oriented leader who is comfortable doing business and making a difference across the world. Carl’s talents are to simplify complex problems, get things done, and give people space to develop.

As Chief Executive Officer of the Swedish Internet Foundation, he guides a team of 120 people, delivering a key part of the Swedish internet infrastructure and securing one billion transactions a day.

His career choices have been guided by a strong passion for both societal change and digital technology. Carl feels immense joy from having had the privilege of working at the intersection of these two areas, where he has helped build smarter cities and communities.
