Fondazione Piemonte Innova is an Italian non-profit government-supported agency for innovation and Digital Transformation established in 2003. FPI facilitates connections and relations between companies, research centres, policy makers, municipalities, and other stakeholders, both public and private, to create collaboration opportunities for technology transfer, R&D projects, pilot and demonstration of solutions, adopting of innovative solution by public administrations, etc. FPI manages Piemonte Region’s ICT innovation Cluster (Polo ICT) and the Italian Technology Cluster for Smart Communities (SmartCommunitiesTech).
FPI’s mission is to contribute to the regional and national competitiveness and innovation by accelerating organisations that use technologies for their strategic development and supporting institutions in planning and managing innovation processes.
FPI has extensive experience working with different stakeholder groups to identify and analyse their needs as well as its capacity to activate its network bringing companies (specially SMEs) and public administration representatives to the project pilots. FPI has strong expertise explicitly in the smart communities’ domain through its role as the managing partner of the Italian Technology Cluster for Smart Communities (SmartCommunitiesTech) and its initiatives with municipalities across Piemonte region. Within its network, FPI has more than 2000 mapped companies working on ICT and twin transition, developing R&D&I projects and supporting digitalisation of other industries. FPI manages Piemonte’s region ICT innovation Cluster (Polo ICT) that has more than 300 members (85% SMEs).
